Transportation: Students will be assigned a bus to take from London, Holmes, or MacArthur Middle School which will transport them to Wheeling High School for class. If students arrive early, they can work on homework and eat snacks in our classroom. Parents are expected to pick up their students from Door #29 in the back parking lot, promptly at 6:15PM.

Explorations In Engineering

This class is for FIRST TIME STUDENTS. Explorations in Engineering is a quick 4-week class where students learn about the Engineering career opportunities at Wheeling High School. They also focus on two hands-on projects using CAD software, Laser Cutters, and 3D Printers. (1) Session will be held in the Fall & (1) session in the Winter. Students should only take (1) session as all Exploration in Engineering classes are the same!

Mass Communications

This course is for students interested in learning how to create digital video content for the 21st Century market, focusing on capturing, editing, and producing short clips to broadcast via social media platforms. Students will be filming and editing content with industrial film equipment as well as diving into Virtual Reality (VR).

Manufacturing & Maker Lab

Create, build, and innovate in the Manufacturing & Makers Lab! In this hands-on course, students will step into a real machine shop to learn the skills of modern manufacturing. You’ll design parts for production, operate CNC machines, and explore automation and robotics—just like a mechanical engineer. From 3D modeling to precision machining, every project will challenge you to think creatively, work with advanced tools, and bring your ideas to life.

Automotive Mechanics & Technology

Get under the hood and into the action! In this hands-on course, students will explore the exciting world of automotive mechanics and transportation. You’ll learn to use tools, perform basic maintenance, and understand how engines, brakes, and other vehicle systems work. From changing tires to discovering the latest in automotive technology, you’ll gain the foundational skills every mechanic needs while building confidence a real auto shop.
